All cars these days have doors and depending on the type of car it is. You have hatchbacks which can be 3 or 5 door because they class the boot as a door. You then have saloons which are 4 door, Coupe’s which are 2 door and also convertibles which are 2 door.
Doors themselves have transformed in modern years with all the accessories that they now have on them. Rather than having mirrors on the wing of a car, you now find them located up beside the pillar and they are more commonly known as door mirrors now, rather than wing mirrors. These mirrors can be operated either as electric door mirrors or manual door mirrors. You also have the door glass which can be operated either by an electric door motor or a simple manual winder. The glass itself is now safer as well because it is able to shatter in tiny little cubes of glass meaning there are no sharp shards which can be extremely dangerous in an accident. Another common accessory inside a door would be a car speaker which also range in size and make. Some car companies don’t produce their own speakers so will contract it out to companies such as Sony or Pioneer.
If you have a damaged door then it is easier to keep the electric window motor, door card, door mirror and all the different accessories and just change the bare door. This is because it is cheaper and this is how they are usually sold at most breakers yards which would be the best place to purchase second hand car parts.
