Seats:

Seats are a very important part of the car as it is where the driver is positioned comfortably so they can operate and control the vehicle in ease. Depending on what car you have will determine how many seats you get. Some sports cars such as the BMW Z4 and the Mazda MX-5 only come with two seats as they are designed as a roadster. Your average hatchback or saloon car will usually have five seats, regardless if it’s a 2,3,4,5 door vehicle. Although there are a few hatchbacks which you would think have five seats but actually have four. The Ford KA is an example as this only has two seat belts in the back. And then the larger cars such as 4X4s and people carriers which can have up to seven seats, in the formation of two front seats, three in the middle and then another two in the rear of the car.

To increase maximum comfort for the driver and the passenger the seats are adjustable in many different ways, such as you can move seats forward and backward to ensure you are the correct distance from the pedals and steering wheel. The angle of the seats can also be adjusted as some people like to sit sitting up straight and some prefer you be in a more angled position. Manufactures have also be known to put in a lumbar support adjuster in (more commonly known to be put in sporty car) this is to change the comfort of the seat itself.

When you purchase a car from new you will most likely be supplied with the basic seats as standard and it will be an optional extra for upgraded seats. This possible upgrade may include:

Heated seats

Cooled seats

Advantages of leather seats are that they are more aesthetically pleasing and more comfortable to sit in, they are also very easy to clean.
