At our Breakers yards we Specialise in sourcing low mileage cars and vans from insurance companies ,unlike other breakers yards that are contracted to take everything that comes and therefore have to sell the good with the bad ,, we only buy the cars we want (ie clean low mileage ) so we can stand behind everything we sell .
When the car arrives at our premises it’s checked over completely for any defects. Before beginning decontaminated the engine is run checked for compression, its put on a ramp and driven through the gears so the gearbox, drive shafts, ect are all checked .
Also we check the fuel sender unit is sending information to the clocks, they are also checked to be functioning properly with no lights on, so the alternator is charging the battery etc.
The electric and manual winding windows and mirror mechanisms are then opened and closed, as well as the central locking devices.
At this stage we put it on our auto diagnostics computer which checks all Car parts such as air flow meter, ecu, abs sensor, abs module, air bag , air bags ecu, fly wheel sensor, seat belt pretension, brake servo , brake master cylinder, idle stabilising valve, throttle body, coil pack, ignition amplifier, and lamba sensor.
We then drive through the gears (to check the gearbox) on the ramp and check all the auxiliary parts are working satisfactory before being dismantled.
All these checks enable us to put our name and guarantee to our second hand parts.
Then the vehicle is decontaminated removing all the oils and liquids in accordance with the waste management licence and the Environment Agency
